If you’ve seen photographs of a bald headed Marlon Brando with a dragonfly on his finger or a Diet Coke bottle cap covering his eye you’ve see the excellent work of Mary Ellen Mark who passed away on May 25th at the age of 75.

Mark was the set photographer for Apocalypse Now, but her work as a street photographer is not to be missed. Below is a link to the New York Times article chronicling her life and work. If you appreciate photography and the human experience, you’d do well to pick up some of the amazing work by Mary Ellen Mark.
